Michael Dickerson Joins SB Microsystems As Director of Engineering

 

mikewebScientific and Biomedical Microsystems (SBM) is excited to announce that Michael J. Dickerson has joined the SBM team. Mr. Dickerson is now SBM’s Director of Engineering. His addition to the SBM team will assure its continued success and growing reputation for innovation and quality. His industry experience and team leaderships skills will provide for further expansion of client services in a way that continues to deliver projects on time and on spec.

 

Mr. Dickerson is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a member of OSA. He holds both U.S and International patents in the field of microwave signals through optical fibers.Prior to joining SBM, Mr. Dickerson was a Senior Lead Engineer with Ultra Electronics – 3 Phoenix. Mr. Dickerson also donates a generous amount of time with the Boy Scouts of America.The team at SBM is thrilled to add Mr. Dickerson to its leadership team.

 

Mr. Dickerson received his B.S in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and an M.S. in Electrical/Optical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He has over 25 years of experience in concept development, research, design and implementation of complex electronic and optical systems for the commercial and defense sectors. He has a proven record of success in innovative technologies in the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) arena for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. Projects include imaging, communications, fiber optics, propagation, remote sensing, microwave signals, telemetry, electronic warfare, cryptology and free-space optics.

 

For over eight years, SBM has turned our customers’ ideas into reality. We develop advanced sensor systems including MEMS, micro-sensors, biosensors and other custom components and systems. SBM attends to the advancement of our client’s concepts through the full development lifecycle, from the R&D phase into initial prototypes and into beta and systems integration testing.SBM carries out R&D for our customers at our state-of-the-art research facility, and provides staffing services to work on-site at customer facilities.
