Biographies

Dongyoul Lee Process Engineer

Dongyoul Lee has been a valuable leader and innovator on SBM’s research & development team since joining the company in 2012. Lee has become known on the team as an expert in microsystems device packaging, the development of novel tools and experimental apparatus, and for innovative and creative approaches to problem solving.  Lee received a BS in Physics from the University of Maryland College Park in 2011, after which he joined the Ultra Fast Optical Science research group in the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics (IREAP) at the University of Maryland, College Park. Lee served as a Faculty Research Assistant and developed the Laser systems and High vacuum Systems for generating Ultrafast light in a broad spectral range.  Lee also developed expertise building high vacuum systems and controlling THz laser systems. As an R&D engineer at SBM, Lee has worked on a variety of projects including the development and commercial roll-out of an implantable biosensor product, the development and bench-top test of an instrumented earplug for the Navy, and novel packaging approaches for x-ray detectors for NASA.
