Fan Wu, PhD VP Product Development

Fan is a biomedical and electrical engineer with 7 years of experience in MEMS-based sensors and actuators. His doctoral research focused on the integration of micro-scale optics and electronics onto implantable neural interface devices to study functions of the brain in behaving animals. Some of his academic achievements include the “NSF Graduate Student Fellowship”, “Best oral presentation award” at the 17th International Conference on Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems, “Highlight of the year” in the Journal of Neural Engineering in 2013, and cover-page article in Neuron. Fan was also a participant in the NSF Innovation Corps program in 2015 to develop business strategies to commercialize technologies from his research projects. Fan earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering (2009) from the University of Wisconsin, and MS (2012) and Ph.D. (2015) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
