Michael J. Dickerson is SBM’s Director of Engineering. Mr. Dickerson is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a member of OSA. He holds both U.S and International patents in the field of microwave signals through optical fibers. Prior to joining SBM, Mr. Dickerson was a Senior Lead Engineer with Ultra Electronics – 3 Phoenix.
Mr. Dickerson received his B.S in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and an M.S. in Electrical/Optical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. He has over 25 years of experience in concept development, research, design and implementation of complex electronic and optical systems for the commercial and defense sectors. He has a proven record of success in innovative technologies in the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) arena for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. Projects include imaging, communications, fiber optics, propagation, remote sensing, microwave signals, telemetry, electronic warfare, cryptology and free-space optics.
Mr. Dickerson also donates a generous amount of time with the Boy Scouts of America.
