Tadd Kippeny Materials Engineer

Tadd Kippeny, Ph.D. is a material scientist III SBM. Dr. Kippeny has worked as a senior scientist for more than a decade on DoD technical programs and business development. He obtained a BS degree in chemistry from James Madison University and a Masters and Doctorate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. His graduate work was developing new synthetic methods for the synthesis of cadmium selenide nanocrystals and determining the electronic decay mechanisms utilizing femtosecond ultrafast fluorescence up-conversion spectroscopy. He then spent three years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Air Force Research Labs in Albuquerque NM developing high power lasers. This was followed by a nine year stint at BAE systems creating and developing a variety of new material driven technologies ranging from explosive remediation techniques, novel desalination methods, to new broad spectrum air sampling materials and methods.
