Subcontracting

SBM also provides engineering labor subcontract support for key activities. Our personnel provide on site labor and support for many different activities – At Howard Hughes Medical Institute, we supply engineering support of basic and applied laboratory science. Since 2007, SBM has supported multiple labs within the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Farm campus in the development of highly specialized scientific equipment, devices, processes and techniques.

We work one-on-one with among the most demanding and innovative scientists on the planet, and we understand the challenges unique to that circumstance. Likewise, at NASA,  our engineers interface directly with high level scientist investigators within the Planetary Sciences and Astronomy Divisions at Goddard Space Flight Center. Under a current contract with NIST, on site RFT scientists are designing a sensor network for instrumenting the secondary side of the NSBR cooling loop, to allow reactor operators to make better real-time decisions about the use and configuration of the second cooling tower.
